Empowering Independence
Consumer Directed Services (CDS)
Understand the CDS Program
CDS is a Medicaid-funded program designed to help eligible individuals maintain their independence. Participants hire Personal Care Attendants (PCA) to assist with daily living activities.
Find the Right Attendant
With the support of Comfort Home Health Care KC, participants or their families can find suitable attendants. The participant hires, supervises, and trains the attendant to ensure personalized care.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for CDS, participants must be at least 18, mentally fit to direct their own care, and able to hire, supervise, and train an attendant. Family members can be attendants, but spouses and guardians do not qualify.
